This is a very compelling hypothesis Bryan, and highly relevant to today’s zeitgeist. I’ve not seen an analysis of this subject broken down with such clarity. Well done. What have you done to test it more broadly? While it’s a good hypothesis, it may need further refinement. Keep in mind this advice from Albert Einstein:

“If I were given one hour to save the planet, I would spend 59 minutes defining the problem and one minute resolving it.”

If you have not already done so, I would partner with some exceptional non-ideological but deliberate scientists to refine and verify the hypothesis and test it out to develop a repeatable model from diagnosis and cure. In my experience, nothing matches mixing it up with people with big brains and strong opinions. You might be onto something big. Very nice!

Thanks so much for the feedback, Graham!

This is fantastic advice, and it's exactly what I've been working on for the past 4-5 years now. I have several experimental tests/routines running on a variety of willing clients currently, and the results have been excellent. Unfortunately, the test sample size remains small, and the test itself is far less rigorous than I'd like.

This is part of the reason I've been focusing on spreading the "definition" - I'm hoping to recruit additional people in the field to develop and use their own treatments using this info.

Unfortunately, the difficulty lies primarily in developing a model that can apply to everyone, as it is precisely the unique helplessness, agency, and acceptance that people experience that is relevant when it comes to designing a treatment plan for them.

Thus far, my most successful system has been one that teaches people how to identify these things for themselves, and then implement them in ways that uniquely appeal to their lives. Happy to go into more detail if you'd like!
